Coventry’s Neighbourhoods
Coventry is the ninth largest city in England and the city is divided into neighbourhoods like all cities and towns are.
Many of these neighbourhoods were villages at one time outside the medieval City Wall or Town Wall as it is referred to, so they were not in the city in those days. Coventry is one of England’s oldest and most historic cities and so many of the neighbourhoods in the city are very interesting and have plenty of heritage which actually tells the story of Coventry.
Even to this day Coventry has many rural areas in the city boundary and many working farms. Our city is very interesting and quite beautiful – this will surprise many people who have a negative perception of the city based on the bits they have seen and experienced. Coventry is full of interesting places some of which are hidden away or inaccessable to the public at this time. Some of our heritage is actually in danger of being lost forever and that is one of the things we in the Coventry Society campaign for – to protect our city’s heritage. If you care about Coventry and in particular your neighbourhood you could get involved in our campaigns by becoming a member of the Coventry Society
We have listed the main neighbourhoods of Coventry with their own page. Some areas have been combined together, such as Ernesford Grange and Binley, but if you think that your area should have its own individual page contact the Coventry Society and let us know.
Also if you live or work in any part of Coventry and you want to share something on our page for your area contact the Coventry Society.
