10:30 am at Coventry Quaker Meeting House, Hill Street, Coventry, CV1 4AN
An illustrated talk about the life and work of George Fox, with readings from his journal. George Fox was one of the founders of Quakerism, and Friends are currently marking the 400th anniversary of his birth.
Refreshments available and participants are invited to contribute towards our building project.
There will also be a chance to view a small exhibition about Fox, the precepts of the Quaker way and the history of the movement in Coventry (which has also been on display in the Chapel of Unity at Coventry Cathedral).
This meeting is being held on the four hundredth anniversary of the birth of George Fox and is within Heritage Open Days. George Fox is closely associated with Coventry, having visited here five times. You can find out more about Fox and the Quakers in Coventry, here.
