Our friends at the Arts Society Coventry have an interesting talk about Women Artists in Britain, given by Amy Lim.
An exhibition, to be held at Tate Britain from May-July 2024, will showcase women artists working in Britain from the sixteenth century to the First World War. Besides well-known artists, such as Angelica Kauffman and Rosa Bonheur, it will introduce lesser-known figures who were highly successful in their day.
As a researcher on this exhibition, the lecture includes a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how the exhibition was put together.
For this month only, the meeting is being held in the afternoon and there will be tea, hot cross buns and Easter cakes to encourage you to attend.
Tuesday 26th March at 2.00 p.m. (Door open at 1.30 p.m.). Barrs Hill School Theatre.
Free to Arts Society members. £10 at the door (£5 for students). For membership details email [email protected] or visit the website theartssociety.org/coventry
