The City Council consultation on the Coventry Local Plan Issues and Options report has been extended to give more people time to respond.
On 18th July the Council commenced an eight-week public consultation on the Local Plan Issues and Options document. The deadline for comments has been extended from 12th September to 29th September.
The Local Plan will direct and control the city’s development over the next two decades and is a very important planning document. The Issues and Options Paper is large and complex with 108 questions embedded in 127 pages of text and a dozen supplementary reports. The time extension to respond to this extensive document is very welcome.
The City Council has organised a number of drop-in sessions over the plan period. The remaining ones are:
Tile Hill Library: Friday 1 September: 10am – 12noon
Cheylesmore Library: Tuesday 5 September: 10am – 12noon
Willenhall Library: Thursday 7 September: 12noon -2pm
In addition, Taiwo Owatemi MP has organised a number of drop-in consultation events for constituents on the North West of the city. These are:
Eastern Green – Friday 1st September between 3 pm – 5 pm: Massey Ferguson Sports and Social Club, Broad Lane, CV5 7NL
Coundon – Friday 8th September: 10am – 12noon: Coundon Social Club, Shorncliffe Road, Coundon, CV6 1GP
The Coventry Society and the Coventry Green New Deal team have joined forces to organise a community led public engagement event. This will be a round table workshop exploring community views on some of the key elements of the plan. This will be on Tuesday 5th September from 7 pm– 9 pm in the Council House. Booking is essential for this meeting and you can find out more information and book a place here.
You can visit the consultation website and read the documents here. You don’t need to register – just click on OPEN at the top left of the page.
The Coventry Society will be publishing its views about the local plan over the forthcoming weeks.
