Images of Graham Sutherland’s Tapestry are identified with Coventry Cathedral all around the world. This recognition is being examined by an expert panel discussion which is being held as part of a major exhibition of modern tapestry being held in London by Gray MCA.

The illustrated panel discussion is open to members of the public and is available either in person or online. The Friends of Coventry Cathedral have helped to arrange the event.

“Gray MCA presents an Illustrated Panel Discussion that will tell the dramatic story of Modern British artist Graham Sutherland’s (1903 – 1980) Christ in Glory tapestry from its genesis to its installation as the centre piece of Coventry Cathedral in 1962 with an eminent panel of historians, textile history and modern art experts. All funds raised from tickets sold will be donated to The Friends of Coventry Cathedral. Ticket includes refreshments at the live event in person at Cromwell Place in London.”

The panel is chaired by Jo Baring, Director Ingram Collection. Other participants are:

Ashley Gray, Director Gray M.C.A.

Prof. Louise Campbell, Warwick University, Leverhulme Emeritus Fellow 2023-4
