Photographer Donna Bridgewater is exhibiting at Shop Front theatre in Coventry.

A photographer who captured people’s emotions during lockdown through portrait images is exhibiting her work in Coventry.

Donna Bridgewater’s 12 pictures will be on display at Theatre Absolute, Shop Front Theatre, 38 City Arcade, from Tuesday, August 17, until the end of the month as part of the Positive Images Festival.

Donna, who has been a photographer for ten years, taught the subject full-time before starting her own business Bridgewater Photography two years ago.

When Donna is not taking pictures or teaching she helps people with their mental health – it is a subject very close to her heart after her sister Leanne took her own life. She said: “The lockdown was tough on people’s emotions and mental health and I wanted to capture that through the portraits.”

Donna first undertook the project in Birmingham, getting her subjects to hold up messages about how they were feeling and then moved it to Coventry, where she used to live.

“I posted on social media where I would be and people came down to take part.”
