The Coventry Society can today exclusively reveal that the Council’s new state of the art Very Light Rail system is to be powered by horses.
A detailed study of the planning application for the new transport system reveals that land has been reserved in the scheme for the stabling of horses.
Cllr Jim O’Simmer, Cabinet Member for Everything, said “Well we had planned for it to be battery operated, but with the delay in the Giga Factory we can’t be certain that the batteries will be here in the near future. So, whilst the project is still at the development stage we will be testing it out with horses. But I can reassure Coventry residents that it will become battery operated as soon as we can collect together enough AA batteries.”
The new VLR system will revolutionise transport in Coventry, allowing electric buses to be replaced by a more sustainable form of transport based on equine power.
A spokesman for Coventry Allotment Association said that it would be good to be putting Council horseshit to good use in the future.
