The Priory Visitor Centre and Undercrofts have re-opened after being closed for many years.

The venue is now being run by Coventry University Student Union. A launch event and open day was held on 15th November to show people know what is going to happen in the building and to highlight the opportunities available.

It will be a community use building with spaces for meetings, talks, music, poetry sessions and various other activities. The ‘Godiva Sister’ will be using it along with the ‘City Hosts’ and City Tour Guides and the welcome return of the Multi-Faith Forum.

A new Facebook site has been set up to promote the centre and its various events.

Student Union chief executive, John Abell, said he was “delighted” to open the attraction. “We have an exciting programme of events planned from history book clubs to monthly heritage open days in the Undercrofts,” he added.

There are a number of events planned by the Centre in December, including Carols in the Cloister, Victorian Afternoon Tea and Bring your own Christmas crafting session.
