One of the volunteers at Charterhouse

Charterhouse, the ‘Grade I’ Priory off London Road has been restored by Historic Coventry Trust in partnership with Coventry City Council and the local community. It’s a unique Medieval and Tudor building, with amazing wall paintings. The extensive restoration project along with the gardens are almost finished.

Now attention has turned to those who will help people who enter the 14th Century building to enjoy memorable visits. A second Open day for volunteers is being held on Saturday, 11th February. at 10-12pm and 1-3pm.

Volunteers, who must be aged over 18, are needed for regular open days and special events throughout the year that will be held at the venue – that links with London Road Cemetery and the wider Charterhouse Heritage Park.

The volunteering opportunity will provide people with new skills, allow them to gain experience and have fun while meeting new people. There will also be opportunities to get involved in gardening or conservation in the Heritage Park.

To book a ticket for the volunteering open day please go to the Historic Coventry Trust website.
