Social entrepreneur Alan Denyer has sent an update on what’s happening at the LTB
Alan writes “Thought I’d share a few updates, as it’s now 12 months since we first opened the doors at LTB…. a little chaotic, but always fun – with well over 10,000 visitors to our two floors above the Litten Tree Pub, and at least 500 local creative people helped out with space to exhibit and/ or hold events.
“Anyhow – the encouraging news is it’s sounding like we’ve another year here before the City Centre South redevelopment begins – so I’ve invested time and £ in getting the Litten Tree’s licensing varied to include LTB, so we can programme in lots more events rather than using temporary events notices. (We’d already run out).
“This is what’s coming up, event-wise, in SEPT/OCT:-
September
Sat 24th – The Institutes
(‘anthemic..’ Cov band who are just back from a tour of the USA – with support from Marseille + Modern Guilt ). £8
Thurs 29th – Nelly, the musical. £15.
(touring stage play, themed around ‘Nell Gwynn’)
October
Sat 1st – The Harmonic Exchange. £3
(a live set of lost library music, plus live DJ sets of original 60’s & 70’s library music for your dancing and head nodding pleasure)
Thurs 6th – Project Blackbird. £8/£5 early bird.
(Midlands based cool jazz/soul/r&b act who are soon to be touring with Fun Lovin Criminals).
Sat 8th – Pigeons + Neon Buddha + Septic & the Tanks. £5 adv.
(local bands – includes dj’s ).
Sat 22nd – ‘Sip & Swap’. £10 entry.
(Bring along 4 cool items of clothing you don’t want, then choose yourself 4 new items – all while sipping a free glass of Prosecco!)
Sun 30th – ‘Nelly, the musical’. £15
(afternoon matinee, reprise)

“Of course, we’re also still open to the public, every day from 12 until 4 – so you can always pop in to see what’s new; current exhibitions in the gallery rooms are ‘LTB Open22’ / Heritage Open Day (first floor), and ‘Sexuality/Gender/Identity’ (third floor – runs until 7th Oct).
